Hope has been providing disaster relief to the Biloxi-Gulfport area since October of 2005. The Gulf coast of Mississippi suffered
massive damage from the impact of Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005, leaving 238 people dead, 67 missing, and billions of dollars in damage: bridges, barges,
boats, piers, houses and cars were washed inland. Katrina traveled up the entire state, and afterwards, all 82 counties in Mississippi were declared disaster areas
for federal assistance, 47 for full assistance.
More than three years later, thousands of displaced residents in Mississippi and Louisiana are still living in trailers. Hope's presence will continue in this
area as long as there are groups of committed individuals who seek to show the love of Christ to the people in this area. You can see pictures from our previous trips in the
Photo Gallery. There currently is a need for skilled laborers, administrative, as well as food preparation to name some of the duties. If you are interested in participating in the next trip
to the Biloxi area, contact the church office at: 419.536.8383 or Fred Bretzloff.
