8 AM Sat., January 26 to 4 PM Sun., January 28
Hope Lutheran Church, Toledo, OH
Why attend CRHP?“I attended the CRHP 2012 retreat because my husband had encouraged me to go. I had a repeat bout of breast cancer and knew I would need further surgery. I had a lot of other things to do at that point and didn’t feel the timing was right for me, but CRHP had such an impact on my husband that I decided to go anyway. I thought I had a good idea of what to expect, but nothing could have prepared me for the actual experience. For me, CRHP was a powerful weekend filled with discovery, reflection, listening, music and the warmth of God’s love. The timing was exactly right and I’m so glad I went.”~ Donna Mens
“The CHRP weekend was a spiritual awakening for me. The experience made a wonderful impact on my life and I would encourage every individual to consider allowing themselves to receive this amazing gift.”~ Colleen Gnepper
“What is it? It is a wonderful chance to hear and learn 10 incredible stories of women, who have been led by a loving God in Christ. They found He was standing beside them in every area of their pain and how he heals and nurtures them in their daily lives. It is a little retreat, which offers one a chance to meet new friends, experience more food than one could imagine, and enjoy intriguing activities leaving one breathless and secure for a life enhancing/changing experience.”~ Karen Baker-Zepf
What is CRHP?“CRHP” (pronounced “chirp”) stands for Christ Renews His Parish, a spiritual renewal process designed to bring members of a congregation together in Christ. It is an opportunity to rediscover and intensify your relationship with Jesus Christ in the environment of our own church.
What happens on the renewal weekend?Come prepared to have fun and renew your heart. The process is centered around reflections by team members related to themes such as our Father’s Loving Care, Scripture, and Christian Community. Small group discussions allow participants to reflect on their own faith experiences.
Will I have to “bare my soul”? No. You are free to share as much or as little as you are comfortable. You and your needs will always be respected.
By attending the weekend, am I committing to being a part of the next CRHP team? No. After the renewal weekend, some women feel called to join the process of formation and be a part of presenting the next weekend. However, many do not. They leave with a wonderful, faith-filled experience that they will remember for a lifetime.
What are the accommodations? The renewal weekend is held at Hope Lutheran Church. Attire is casual and comfortable and hot meals are served with a smile! There are regular breaks with coffee, cold drinks, and snacks. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice. Comfortable air mattresses are provided for sleeping.
What is the cost? Absolutely free!
We feel blessed to have received the gift of a CRHP renewal weekend, and even more blessed to be able to offer this gift to you! No matter where you are in your faith journey, we really hope you can join us!
