While we encourage sending into the world to serve God and our neighbors, it is important to remember that we have neighbors within our own congregation. Below are listed some of the opportunities to serve within our midst.
Hope’s Healing Ministry offers prayers, laying-on of hands and anointing during Communion at one service on the second Sunday of each month for anyone desiring healing of spirit, mind or body. The Healing Ministry is also available at other times as needed. Contact Bob Beers for more information or if you are interested in becoming part of this ministry.
A team of caregivers assists the Pastors in visiting members of Hope that are unable to attend Hope regularly. They meet once a month for a devotion and time of prayer. Throughout the month they visit members and distribute communion if requested. Lois Smith, Director of Pastoral Care, coordinates the team.
Each Sunday there is an opportunity to submit prayer requests (found on the back of the blue attendance slips inside each bulletin). These prayer requests are held confidential and sent to a team of Hope members that are committed to praying throughout the week. Individuals may also call the church office during the week to add requests. Those interested in serving on the prayer chain should contact Pam Kensler.
