The Mission Outreach group meets the second Tuesday at 7:00 pm. The purpose of this group is to develop and work with mission partners locally and abroad. If you are interested in becoming part of Hope's mission outreach program, please contact the office to be directed to each area's volunteer coordinator.
Currently we have the following intentional ministry partnerships:
Salem Lutheran Church
Salem Lutheran Church is a ministry partner located in inner-city Toledo. Each month members of Hope help serve at Salem’s Agape Meal. Our pastors also help lead the Agape worship service that is held prior to the meal. Throughout the year there are numerous ways servant love is shared with Salem, from inviting any children that would like to attend Hope’s Vacation Bible School to the Hope for Salem project that is turning unused space into functioning space for Salem and the surrounding community.
Haiti Mission Team
Hope's yearly mission to Haiti includes services to provide surgeries that are life changing, excellent pediatric care to many children, superior dental restoration and construction "built with loving care." Medical and support staff join together as our mission team. There are also many ways to support this effort and team from home.
Martin Luther King Jr. Kitchen for the Poor
Hope’s core value of generosity is exemplified in the partnership with Martin Luther King Jr. Kitchen for the Poor. Members routinely provide financial support and food donations for the food pantry. Additionally, there have been opportunities for members to sponsor children with gifts at Christmas. The Kitchen for the Poor is supported through the bi-annual “Feed His Sheep” generosity project held during Advent.
Old Orchard Elementary School
This elementary school is located in Hope’s neighborhood. Through building a relationship with the school principal, we work to meet identified needs. As students prepare to return to school, we gather school supplies. During the winter months we collect hats, scarves and gloves to make sure the students can stay warm while walking to school. Our DIT students have also done service projects to connect with the students. We look forward to more engagement in the years to come!
